About Christine Romans
As a young girl, I spent 11 years of my childhood growing up in Rarotonga where my father was the Chief Medical Officer for the Cook Islands. It was here that I started to develop my passion for cross stitch, tapestry, knitting and other types of craft making. Over many years since, I have knitted, stitched and created crafts for myself, friends and family members. These include quilts, cot quilts, knitted socks, quilted placemats and other handmade items. I never considered creating crafts as a business venture until after my partner and I relocated to Brisbane from New Zealand in 2011. As an older person it was difficult gaining employment, so I established my own craft making venture and called it Christine’s Handmade Crafts. When I first started, I did so by selling crafts at The Morayfield Handmade Expo which operated on the last Sunday of every month. This venue later closed and I changed my focus to marketing my crafts via Facebook. However, I now offer them for sale, via the Heavenly Handmades Collective Store, located in the old Kallangur Church building at Old Petrie Town Historic Village, 109 Dayboro Road, Whiteside, in the northern suburbs of Brisbane,
